How to put together the best Bama Gameday Outfit: MY OOTD

Share

SEC college football is basically the Met Gala. Especially in Tuscaloosa. We have put together everything you need to know to stand out in the crowd of adoring Alabama fans.

What do you absolutely NEED to survive Gameday? A cute outfit, booties, accessories, a clear bag, gameday pins, and to look your best. But let’s break that down further.

When picking your outfit; stick to red, crimson, white, and black. Houndstooth and Gingham are very acceptable patterns to wear, and everyone loves fringe leather and rhinestones. Sets, rompers, dresses, skirts are the most popular items.

For shoes, basically everyone and their mother has a collection of boots. Booties, tall boots, cowboy boots, and any western style boot is extremely in trend. Plus they keep your feet safe from those who step too close at the bars. Stick to the same color scheme, but statement boots are precious too.

Earrings! Everyone loves tassel earrings, big beaded earrings, or any variation in the same color scheme mentioned.

Gameday pins. If you are in Greek life, you will typically wear a pin from your sorority. But you may want to wear a pin meant for that particular game or just a fun one in general. Boutiques sell a variety of these pins, as does the student store and local shops. If you are shopping online, Etsy has great sellers for Bama gameday pins.

Last; but not least, the university requires a clear bag to get into the stadium. Get one from the local boutique, Amazon, or the student store. If you can’t part with your favorite Chanel bag, the boutiques offer a selection of clear bags with the same designer logos.

Examples of clothing items you may see on a gameday.

Now for everything beauty related and other tips.

Hairspray is a must! Alabama is humid, and you will find your blowout flat and frizzy within seconds of stepping outside. Get hairspray with a brushable formula, my favorite is by “Its a 10”, then apply heat after coating your locks to really seal her in.

Coat your body in baby powder. I’m serious! Every inch should be coated in baby powder or deodorant, and Lush makes a powdered deodorant that does wonders. You will smell great, and look less sticky.

Set your makeup. Urban decay all nighter is a great setting spray, and I use Laura Mercier setting powder to keep my makeup in place. You will be sweating, dancing and running around all day and still expected to take pictures.

I cannot stress this enough, buy a rollerball of your favorite perfume and bring it in your bag. Everyone smells of sweat, natural lite and good old American football, but at least you will smell good.

Bandaids and thick socks are so necessary. Those boots you bought are so cute, but so painful. I walked 10 miles last gameday and danced the night away in Gallettes. However, I wore thick socks and carried bandaids in my bags to minimize the next day’s pain.
