Nourishing your body for a happy healthy life!
Food is Fuel!
You have probably heard those three words so many times in a health context. But how many really take it to heard and apply to your life? Probably less than you think.
So many men and women in this world do not take their health serious or realize the necessary things they need to do to stay healthy. Taking a moment to do a self-assessment on yourself you probably can find a few things to change before you ever step foot in a weight room.
Looking at your eating habits is the best place to start. Fueling your body with the right foods and nutrients is how you will be successful in both the weight room and in life. Our bodies rely on us to put food into our bodies to make it function properly and perform at our best abilities. Athletes who are at the top level of their sport must do this to be successful. Preparing for a practice or game the same rules apply when getting your
body ready for its peak performance. Let’s take a look at some simple steps to fueling your body!
Start with Breakfast. So many of us skip this meal, even when it is considered the most important meal of the day. This is the meal you start your day on. This is how you set yourself up for success for your day. The different variety of food this meal has to offer is endless from sweet treats like pancakes, waffles, and French toast to a more savory option like eggs, bacon, and a biscuit. All of these are a great way to fuel your body for the rest of the day!
Lunch. The middle of the day, the time your body may be shutting down looking for a restart to conquer the rest of the day. The options are endless and when I say endless, I mean endless. How could you skip a meal like this when you can eat anything you want and your body will be ready to take on the rest of the day. Eating a healthy option for this meal will set your body up for the most success. Some options I love to fuel my body with are a salad with chicken, a turkey sandwich with a side of fruit, or even protein smoothie if you’re in a rush. Getting food into your body at this time of day is so important.
Lastly dinner. The final big meal of the day. The meal that fills you up and gets you ready to
wind down for the rest of the evening. The options are endless here as well. Finding a meal with a protein, carb, vegetable, and fruit will satisfy all of your bodies needs when fueling it.
Remember when I mentioned a protein smoothie. Here is a quick and easy recipe for protein smoothie that will fill you up and all give you all the nutrients your body needs for a simple and easy go to.
