Homemade Cupcakes

Wrapping up our journey as the cooking team baking goodbye cupcakes!

Share

As our time together as the cooking team for our class draws to a close, we feel sadness as we say goodbye to this wonderful experience but also joy for the memories we’ve created and the skills we’ve gained. Over these past months, we’ve embarked on a culinary adventure, exploring recipes, sharpening our kitchen techniques, and sharing delightful meals with our classmates.

Cooking together isn’t just about preparing food but also about collaboration, communication, and creativity. We’ve learned to work as a team, relying on each other’s strengths to bring our dishes to life. Whether slicing vegetables, stirring sauces, or plating desserts, every task was an opportunity to bond and grow.

Our cooking team also became a space for exploration and discovery. Each stream offered a chance to expand our culinary horizons, from experimenting with new ingredients to mastering classic recipes. We’ve celebrated successes and learned from our mistakes in the kitchen.

To mark this occasion, here’s a special homemade cupcake recipe—a sweet farewell from our cooking team to all our fellow classmates and food enthusiasts. This recipe is simple yet delicious, perfect for celebrating the end of a memorable culinary journey.

Homemade Vanilla Cupcakes

Ingredients:

  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 ½ teaspoons baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • ½ cup milk

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a cupcake pan with paper liners.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, using an electric mixer, cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients, alternating with the milk, beginning and ending with the flour mixture. Mix until just combined; do not overmix.
  6. Divide the batter evenly among the cupcake liners, filling each about two-thirds full.
  7. Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Allow the cupcakes to cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
  9. Once cooled, frost the cupcakes with your favorite icing or enjoy them as is.

These vanilla cupcakes are a delightful treat to share with friends and family. They embody the spirit of our cooking team—simple, sweet, and made with love. As we part ways, we cherish the memories we’ve created and carry the passion for cooking wherever life takes us. Thank you for joining us on this delicious journey!
