Logan and Kate made the decision to finally visit Applebee’s after seeing it all over TikTok. When we first arrived, we were welcomed and given the option to choose our own seats. Excited for what lay ahead, we chose a comfortable booth and dived straight into the menu. Our waitress approached us with such great energy, and when we mentioned we were newcomers, she was thrilled to share all the great deals. She started us off with drinks and appetizers, and let me tell you, they blew us away! For a sneak peek at our ratings, check out our previous blog post where we covered those delicious items in detail. We couldn’t resist the special offer: two entrees and an appetizer for just $28—an amazing deal for college students seeking a fine dining experience! Kate ordered the Fiesta Lime Chicken, which was a celebration of flavor. Grilled chicken glazed with zesty lime sauce, drizzled with tangy Mexi-ranch, and smothered in a rich blend of Cheddar cheeses over crispy tortilla strips. It was served with Spanish rice and house-made pico de gallo. Logan went with the 6-oz filet, which was perfectly cooked, a Select Top Sirloin that had been delicately seasoned. It came with steamed broccoli and garlic mashed potatoes. We were both impressed with our meals and even swapped bites, constantly telling each other how much we enjoyed the food. We genuinely never expected Applebee’s to impress us this much! Keep reading to see our ratings on each category and item we tried. You won’t want to miss it!
Let’s start by discussing our thoughts on Applebee’s meals, starting with the Fiesta Lime Chicken. It’s clear why our waiter suggested it as a top choice among customers! It tasted amazing, more like something you would have at a Mexican restaurant than an Applebee’s. Logan gave it a perfect score of one, saying it was the greatest chicken shes ever had. She thought the fried rice was a wonderful touch, and the lime and cheese created the ideal balance. Kate awarded it a two, stating that while it was very tasty, the substantial amount of cheese was too much for her. Logan and Kate gave the presentation a 2 each. The only drawback was that it was difficult to see the chicken because of how dominant the rice was. They both agreed that the price-quality ratio is 1, pointing out that the two dinners for $28 is an excellent deal that few other places can match. They scored it a 1 for smell, praising the pleasing blend of scents that went well together. Next up was the 6oz filet served with broccoli and mashed potatoes. Both of us rated the taste a 2, impressed by how good the steak was for a casual dining spot. While it may not rival a steakhouse, it was certainly tasty, and the steamed broccoli with melted butter and creamy mashed potatoes complemented it perfectly. In terms of presentation, we both gave it a 1—the items were evenly distributed on the plate, making it look appetizing. For price vs. quality, we again gave it a 1 since it was part of the special deal. And for fragrance, we rated it a 1 as well, enjoying the inviting smells of the steak, steamed broccoli, and mashed potatoes. All in all, we highly recommend Applebee’s! We had an incredibly enjoyable eating experience and would most certainly return. Stay tuned for our upcoming eats!
