Super Bowl 59:
The Philadelphia Eagles have won Super Bowl 59 with Quarterback Jalen Hurts wins Super Bowl MVP. The Eagles dominated the Kansas City Chiefs and stoped them from winning their third straight Super Bowl. The largest lead of the night came in the third quarter as the Eagles were up 34-0. The Eagles defense made the night miserable for the Chiefs offense holding the chiefs to 6 point through 3 quarters. They forced 3 turnovers and one turnover on downs. Patrick Mahomes was sacked 6 times in the game with 2.5 sacks coming from the Eagles edge rusher Josh Sweat.
Super Bowl 59 was not kind to many stars on the Chiefs. Travis Kelce had only 4 receptions for 39 yards. Now he faces an offseason where many will question if he will retire or not. Chiefs rookie Xavier Worthy was the only bright spot. He ended the game with 8 receptions for 157 yards. Unfortunately it was to late the Eagles were already up 34 points before his first touchdown catch.
Eagles running back Saquon Barkley was held in check by the Kansas City Chiefs defense. Held to 57 yards rushing, but it did not matter as Jalen Hurts led the team with 72 yards rushing. Hurts threw for 221 yards and 2 touchdowns both finding his top two targets A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith. The Eagles got help from their star rookie defensive back Cooper DeJean. He returned an interception for a touchdown to put the Eagles up 17-0 in the first half.
NBA Trade Deadline:
The NBA Trade Deadline was full of surprises and it dominated the news outlets during the week before Super Bowl 59. Headlined by the massive trade between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Dallas Mavericks that saw Luka Dončić traded for Anthony Davis.
The trade was during the midnight hours of Saturday February, 1. The shocking news was broken by ESPNs Shams Charania and left fans wondering if the trade was even real. Luka Dončić is one of the top players in the NBA, and was the Mavericks franchise player before the trade was announced. So why did the Dallas Mavericks choose to trade its star player and to the Lakers of all teams. Dončić’s conditioning displeased the Mavericks and it led to the decision that to trade him rather than resign him with a super-max contract this off season. The Mavericks choose to get Anthony Davis in what can only be seen as a win now move. In all trades there is a winner and a looser and at this very moment the Lakers have won big.
Other superstars to be traded as the Sacramento Kings sent DeAron Fox to the San Antonio Spurs. Jimmy Butler was sent to the Golden State Warriors ending his time with the Miami Heat. The Celtics and the Thunder are still the teams to beat after the trade deadline.

NBA All Star Weekend will kick off on Friday, February 14 and end with the annual All Star game on Sunday, February 16. Start your weekend with the Celebrity and Rising Stars Games on Friday. On Saturday you should watch the KIA Skills Challenge, the Starry 3 point contest, and finally the AT&T Dunk Contest. Sunday the All Star game will debut a brand new format where NBA & WNBA legends Shaquille O’Neal, Charles Barkley, Kenny Smith and Candace Parker will choose teams that will face of with one another to determine the champions of All Star Weekend. The new format will feature a tournament where the winners of two semifinal games will meet in the championship game. The winner of the game is the team that surpasses 40 points first.
The Daytona 500:
Sunday, February 16 the Daytona 500 opens the new season for NASCAR. Daytona is one of the best and most anticipated race in NASCAR. The 200 lap race has created many historic drivers like Dale Earnhardt Sr. and Richard Petty. Last year William Byron won the race while driving the number 24 car. Some of our favorites to win this race are Austin Cindric #2, Austin Dillon #3 and Denny Hamlin #11.
