Club Penguin Online, one of the largest unofficial fan servers of the beloved Disney-owned game. It was taken down after The Walt Disney Company filed a Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) takedown notice, according to BBC. This unlicensed version of the popular children’s social network had attracted over 8 million users. The game original Club Penguin was shut down in 2017 from the drop in users and they tried to rebrand it. In the end the game permanently shut down. The server officially ceased operations in May 2020 as reported by Verge.
