Zet Zillions is Changing the Game
Ota Imon is an independent video game publisher from Brazil. The studio absolutely struck gold with the fantastic Zet Zillions. The game is a roguelike deckbuilder with some very interesting twists on the genre. The game’s art style is absolutely mind-blowing and never gets tiring to look at. The crew players fly with on your ship “Baby Violence” will create entertaining moments you’ll hold onto. The game’s core loop is wonderfully addicting and will cause players to play just “one more run” over and over again.
What Makes It Different?
Zet Zillions does two big things differently than other roguelike deckbuilders: population and combinations. When a player gets into combat they’ll have two options of flying past. They can either play cards to deal damage and blast their way through, or populate. Certain cards will add “population” which fill up a special bar each planet has. This allows players to get through certain encounters and earn special rewards by not going guns blazing. Another incredible feature is the ability to combine cards. Certain cards will have special interactions with others, and when dragged together can form an entirely new card. This allows for players to build decks in special ways to perform big flashy moves. This also allows players to build in specific ways and pivot to other playstyles through this mechanic. If an enemy cannot be populated players are able to shove their population into some scrap metal for a damaging projectile! Zet Zillions is an absolute game changer and is a must pick up for every fan of roguelikes.
