Coachella & Stagecoach 101

This festival is popular for many celebrities so in that case they often choose the first weekend because they want the first look at everything that happens. If you want to spot an influencer I would suggest going the first weekend! Anyone can go to this music festival, but it is just known for all the celebrities and influencers that go. You just need to buy a pass for the weekend, but be aware because tickets sell out fast, so I would buy them as soon as they go on sale. The prices of tickets are pretty pricey as well. Of course the tiers determine ticket prices, the earlier you buy the better. Tier 1 pass prices general admission start at $549 before all the fees. Tier 2 is starting at $574 and tier 3 at $599. The last tier 5 is starting at $649. Of course there is a VIP option to Coachella, starting at $1,069. VIP tickets allow fans into designated areas including closer secured being sections to the bars, certain bars, vendors and air-conditioned restrooms. Coachella takes place in southern California right outside of Palm Springs in this little town called Indio, also where Stagecoach takes place as well. This year’s biggest headliners included Bad Bunny, Blackpink, Metro Boomin and Frank Ocean. Calvin Harris is also performing as a special guest DJ on both weekends. Some other smaller artists coming include Rosalia, Becky G, Bjork, and Charli XCX. Personally, I don’t think this year’s lineup was amazing, I don’t think I would even spend $300 to go if I could.

Every year as April rolls around the talk of the town is Coachella and Stagecoach. As celebs, fans and influencers fled to the desert get ready for your Instagram to be filled with Ferris wheel pics film selfies and some very unique festival fashion. First start with Coachella 101 since it just happened then we will get into everything about Stagecoach a little later in this blog. Coachella is a music festival in Indio, California, every year. The founders of this festival made it normal for the world’s biggest artists and up-and-coming musicians to play. This festival runs over two weekends in April and each weekend contains of 3 days. In total, it has over 250,000 over two weekends. Around 125,000 per day which is absolutely insane. This festival also brings in a lot of revenue, about over $100 million every year. This festival started a little over 24 years ago in 1999. It first started just as a two-day music festival and has changed and evolved ever since. If you love music, are an influencer or want to be, enjoy California, you would love Coachella. Since it is two weekends the musician line-ups are the same for both weekends. During the weekend the gates officially open at 11 a.m. each day and the music stops just after midnight. The attentive schedule is the same for both weekends’ but of course there always ends up being a few differences between the two weekends. Most commonly like what celebrities attend and any surprise performances of artists or anything else along those lines. Typically, I have heard that weekend two goes better in terms of logistics since you can learn from the mistakes of weekend one, so they do not happen again.

Now let’s get into where to stay if you’re going to Coachella. So depending on your vibe there are quite a few options of where to stay. For the most casual and probably least expensive you can choose the option of camping on the festival grounds. It just costs an extra $149 before taxes and fees per vehicle or tent. You could also choose the option of glamping, glamorous camping. Lake Eldorado is a popular location to camp at, you can book a tent or lodge which includes cots, concierge service and private bathrooms. The general admission for two people starts at $2,798. For those who aren’t into the camping scene there are plenty of hotels to choose from in surrounding areas. Two of the most popular hotels are the Ace Hotel and Swim Club, The Westin Rancho Mirage Golf Resort & Spa, and Renaissance Palm Springs Hotel. Of course there’s also options of Airbnb, VRBOs and timeshares. Just keep in mind the closer you are to the festival grounds the more expensive everything will be. So now for getting to the grounds, you can drive and leave your car in one of Coachella Day parking lots for free with general admission or VIP. You can also pay for preferred parking with a cost of $199 per car. Uber and Lyft are also options, there are designated drop off and pick up locations so it makes it smoother. I have heard getting an Uber or Lyft is super hard and also very expansive, around $150 to go a few miles. After some research it looks like buying a “AnyTime Any Line Shuttle pass” is the way to go. You can get picked up near some of the most popular hotels and landmarks and the pass costs around $120 for the whole weekend.

Let’s get into the food now, I think that the food scene is almost as exciting as the actual line up of the artists. The fans get to enjoy some of LA’s top favorite dining places. Such as Delilah, Monty’s Good Burger, and Dave’s Hot Chicken. Plenty of other options as well, there also have full service pop up restaurants on the festival grounds. Fans can also get standard drinks from alcohol tents throughout the grounds. This year they are starting something new with its first nonalcoholic booze free bar. Since everything about Coachella is go big or go home you know they have to have an extravagant option of dining too. You can purchase an Outstanding in the Field dinner, that includes global chefs that feed a 275 person long table and a four-course meal in the VIP Rose Garden. Overall Coachella is an experience if you love all the glam, glitz and music you need to go to.

Now let’s talk about Stagecoach. It’s just like Coachella, but it’s the country version. It started in 2007 and takes place at the same venue as Coachella. Every year it also brings in a massive crowd of country lovers making it one of the most highly anticipated musical events of the year. One of the main differences between the two festivals besides the genre of music is the fact that it’s just one weekend. Stagecoach 2023 hasn’t happened yet, but it is happening the last weekend of April. The line-up is Luke Bryan, Kane Brown, Chris Stapleton, Jon Pardi, Riley Green, and Old Dominion. I went in 2016, and it was the most fun I have ever had at a concert. I hope you have learned a lot from this blog and If you have a chance to be able to go to either of these festivals you need to take it! Thanks for reading and don’t forget to tune into our live stream next week!
