A famous music festival coming up soon is Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. This festival is known for having the best performances and the best lineups. For Coachella, there will be old-school staples, new artists, and top-billed artists this year. The Hu will be playing at Coachella; they are a Mongolian metal band and have gained some popularity over the years. Formed in 2016, this band mixed traditional Mongolian throat singing with modern elements of rock, metal, and pop. Billie Eilish will be performing, and she is always a fan favorite; she will be headlining both Coachella and Glastonbury this year. She gives the best performances and is fun to watch; I wouldn’t want to miss out on her performance. Rina Sawayama is considered to be one of the boldest voices in pop. She will bring the house down this year with such a unique sound. Some more famous names performing at Coachella this year include Harry Styles, Ye, Doja Cat, and Megan Thee Stallion. Glastonbury Festival is another famous festival for contemporary artists. As stated before, Billie Eilish is some of the headlining artists. The other headlining artists include Paul McCartney, Kendrick Lamar, and Diana Ross. This year’s festival will take place between June 22nd and June 26th. The youngest solo headliner in the Glastonbury Festival history is Billie Eilish, and Co-organizer Emily Eavis stated that it felt like the perfect way for the festival to return. In addition, Paul McCartney will be performing after almost 20 years since his last performance as a headliner for Glastonbury. It is also rumored that Harry Styles will perform; his name was mentioned as a possible performer for the 2020 festival but was never confirmed to be performing. This year while his music has touched so many people, it seems like the right time for him to perform.
The next widely popular music festival set for this year is Lollapalooza. This year Lollapalooza will be from July 28th to July 31st. There will be more than 170 performances on nine stages—35 chefs and restaurants, including vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options. Kidzapalooza is also returning with free admissions for children ten and under. The headliners for this year are Metallica, Dua Lipa, J. Cole, Green Day, Doja Cat, Machine Gun Kelly, Lil Baby, and Kygo. Lollapalooza takes place over Grant Park in Downtown Chicago, alongside the shores of Lake Michigan. There are also interactive areas around the park with giveaways and merch. Lollapalooza is a great event to go to with friends and even the family.
Bonnaroo is another famous festival taking place from June 16th through the 19th. Bonnaroo features a lineup of 150+ artists, and there are ten or more stages. It is typical to camp out; camping at Bonnaroo is different because it is a non-stop event. They also have multiple activities; it is not just a music festival. There are activities like yoga, painting watercolor with local artists, and even a 5k. As stated previously, Bonnaroo is more than a music festival; they also have fantastic food. Austin City Limits Music Festival is known for celebrating all things music. But, like Bonnaroo, it is not just a music festival. There is also an art market, food, and a dedicated family area. This festival starts in October from the 7th to the 9th and from the 14th to the 16th. A part of the lineup will be Billie Eilish, Stevie Nicks, George Strait, Doja Cat, DaBaby, Erykah Badu, and Megan Thee Stallion. This festival also caters to many genres, including rock, heavy metal, EDM, house, hip hop, indie, and more.
