Share

No. 6 Alabama will face No. 11 Vanderbilt March 10 in Tampa to start their SEC tournament run. The game will be featured on the SEC network at 7 p.m. CST.

The last time these two matched up against each other it ended with the tide on top by two winning the game 74-72. The Crimson Tide earned a bye which usually gives teams a huge advantage, but this game may not be the case. Vanderbilt blew out Georgia so badly that no starter played more than 24 minutes. The Commodores are expected to have their full roster as well and they are looking for revenge.

Both teams are top three in the SEC at 3-point attempts with over 46% of field goal attempts. The Commodores shot 34% from three this season and 37% in SEC play. The Tide shot 31% from three this season overall and 29% in SEC play. The Tide do not shoot better from three than Vanderbilt but from within the arc Alabama is 10th in the country shooting an elite 56.5%.

The Crimson Tide are favorites to win this game and advance to their annual second round matchup against Kentucky. With four Alabama men’s basketball players earning SEC all-conference honors they will look to compete at a high-level and repeat as champs this year.
