Let’s run it back! Last year Twelve 25 hosted a Mario Kart tournament for any and all students, and it was a huge hit. This year, UA Twitch will be putting on the same event at the same place. On Tuesday, October 19, all students are invited to come to compete and show off their skills on the track. The races will start at no later than 6 p.m. and will end around 9 p.m.
If you are a fan of March Madness, then you are in luck. This event will take place with a bracket-style setup. Each player must compete at the highest level if they hope to move on to the next round. Grab your friends, because the name of the game for this tournament is teamwork. There will be four stations with four teams at each station. The teams will consist of two players, so if I were playing, I would leave the slowpokes at the house.
The races will be played on a Nintendo Switch that is provided by UA Twitch, so you do not have to worry about bringing your own controller. Have a favorite combination of character and Kart? Use it! This is a no-limits tournament, so players are encouraged to use whatever combination they are used to for the races.
Twelve 25 is not just going to be the location for the event. The sports bar will still be operating as such during the tournament. I do not know if there will be any deals going on, but I do know that they will be serving up food and drinks all night. If you come hungry it is not an issue. The folks at Twelve 25 are going to be eager to get you whatever you want off of their menu. If you are feeling great after a first-round win, you should celebrate with a beer of your choice. If you are just coming to watch your boyfriend play and have no idea what is going on, order a cocktail and sip on it while he yells at the person who just hit him with a turtle shell.
This event is going to be the talk of the town, just like it was a year ago. What is more fun than going with your best friend to a bar and taking down your opponents in a video game? It is going to be a night full of fun and laughs for participants and spectators alike.
Curious about what you are playing for? That is okay because I am too, but what I do know is that UA Twitch is cooking up some prizes that you will not want to miss out on. There will be an assortment of small prizes for participating and finishing within the top ranks of the tournament. There will be a big prize, however, for the winning duo of the tournament. This will not be a cash prize, so do not get your hopes up to win ten thousand dollars. It will, though, be worth your time and energy to compete. Take my word for it when I say that you do not want to miss out on this event.
