Our Favorites and Why You Should Play Them

Share

This week we decided as a group that it could be beneficial to our readers as well as our viewers over on twitch if we went back and visited some of the themes from the past. Some of our favorites include Call of Duty Black Ops, Warzone, Left 4 Dead and Black Ops Zombies. These games have played major parts in our childhoods and have let us build memories with friends along the way. That’s really what gaming is all about. Video games give us a chance to escape reality and all the troubles of the world all while bringing your friends together.

This Wednesday at 8pm, I will be streaming Black Ops 3 Zombies for the second time in hopes of beating the Shadows of Evil easter egg. For those who may not be aware of what an Easter egg is, it is basically a hidden in-game quest line that players have the option of completing while trying to fight off rounds of infected zombies. Black Ops 3 was the first of the Black Ops series to include cutscenes and advance the storyline of the original four characters. Dempsey, Richtofen, Takeo, and Nikolai were first mentioned in Call of Duty’s World at War released back in 2008. The conclusion of their story wasn’t completed until the release of Black Ops 3 in 2015-16. World at War was the first Call of Duty game I owned and it’s safe to say my love for zombies has only grown more and more.

Shadows of Evil is the first map released on Black Ops 3 and takes place in what we assume is 1940s Chicago. Our four characters attempt to defeat an evil spirit called the Shadow Man and in their pursuit they accidentally release an interdimensional evil that seeks to end the world as they know it. New bosses including margwa’s and ghost give players new enemies to look out for. Shadows at its release was often known for being one of the studio’s more difficult maps but it’s not difficult to understand the pacing of the map. At the end of the Easter egg, players must start a ritual in hopes to capture and contain the interdimensional evil. Every boss is thrown at you and in the midst of all the chaos, it is important to communicate and shoot the Shadow man when the opportunity is there. In my stream I hope to pass along my love for zombies and encourage those who have never played the series to give this game a try and hopefully beat an easter egg of their own.

This game is Maslin’s favorite because he loves a game that provides challenge through patience and determination. It can be difficult when finally finding that trophy buck you have been tracking for the past hour, and you spook it because you had a bad wind or just got lazy and started being too loud. The animals in this game have trophy systems from Bronze all the way to The Great One which is incredibly rare to find. This mechanic offers players the chance to see how their hunting skills fare to their friends who can join them in a multiplayer lobby. Come join Maslin this today at 12 to see how his skills hold up in this realistic hunting simulator.
