Another year, another Super Bowl. With the 2022-23 NFL season coming to a close with probably one of the best Super Bowl matchups in recent history.
Jalen Hurts, former Crimson Tide and Oklahoma Sooner quarterback is having another shot at a championship game after being replaced by Tua Tagovailoa in the second half in the 2018 CFB championship versus Georgia. Who went on to win the game for the Tide.
Jalen Hurts since then has been very motivated, taking the lead position at Oklahoma after transferring from Alabama to become a Heisman finalist, and now not only becoming an NFL MVP finalist in only his 3rd year, as well as leading his team to the Super Bowl.
As Alabama fans, we wouldn’t love anything more than to see Jalen, Devonta and Landon Dickerson hoist the Lombardi trophy. However, the Kansas City Chiefs have been here before, Patrick Mahomes has been here before. It’s a huge stage with even bigger stakes.
Philadelphia is projected to win by 1.5 points according to Caesars Sportsbook. Although the Chiefs won the AFC championship with an Injured Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes injuring his ankle mid-game and basically won it on one leg. This on top of other injuries the Chiefs were suffering from prior to the AFC championship. The Chiefs Defense vs the Eagles is going to be the ultimate matchup of the season.
By the time the Super Bowl comes around this Sunday Mahomes, Kelce and much the rest of their team should be healed by the time of Super Bowl. As of today much of their IL has been cleared but not 100%.
Jalen Hurts is preparing for the ultimate test coming off of his shoulder injury just a few weeks ago and he is confirmed to be playing in the Super Bowl saying “It’s a good thing there’s a bye week.”
