Reality Wrap-Up: The Big Three

ALL things reality tv: Bachelor, Vanderpump Rules, and Real Housewives

Share

Hey y’all! It’s that time of the week again when we recap all things reality TV! This week we are discussing what we like to call “The Big Three” which includes The Bachelor, Vanderpump Rules, and The Real Housewives

The Bachelor: Season 28 Episode 6

After the last episode, we were all raising a glass that Sydney was sent home (cheers ladies!!), but this episode kept us all on our toes as well. The beginning of the episode foreshadows what we would later see… and that was Joey telling Maria HE. LOVES. HER. In French. To put it lightly… I was SHOOK. Anyway… we will get to that in a little bit, so without further adieu, let’s take it from the top!

The episode starts on a sad note with Joey walking around alone in Montreal. He explains in his interview that he is struggling because he’s falling in love with multiple women, and he can see himself holding back (which he doesn’t want to do).  He feels as if everyone expects him to be perfect and the pressure is really hard on him. Can someone please wipe this man’s tears away like he’s done for every single girl and give him a hug??? If no one else will… I ABSOLUTELY will.

All of the girls settle into their hotel and then begin to explore Montreal. Our bilingual host finds the girls and begins to speak to them in French *I immediately turn on the subtitles.* He announces that the first date of the week is a group date YAY! The girls that will be on this date are Daisy, Katelyn, Kelsey A., Jenn, Rachel, Lexi, Lea, and Jess. This means that Maria and Kelsey T will be getting the one-on-one dates this week.

Guys, I think this is where I begin to explain my very unpopular opinion of Maria (Sorry in advance). I just don’t get the hype… also kinda upset she basically had a one-on-one last week once Sydney was kicked off and NOW she gets another. Not fair.

Okay! Back to the group date which is a SCAVENGER HUNT..? The clues are in French, and our beautiful, stunning, and smart queen Lexi figures it out! Later, they arrive at Jesse Palmer’s favorite restaurant in Montreal, and they make their own poutine. Did anyone else see the autographed headshot of Jesse Palmer in the background? No? Just me?

Jenn tries to be cute and quirky and adds chocolate sauce, pineapple, and sriracha to her poutine, and all I’m doing is praying she has some Imodium. Joey tries it immediately and looks like he’s gonna puke, but we commend him for being a team player.

Joey in an interview talks about how Jenn makes him feel special when she puts in an effort in creating “little moments” between the two of them. The other women get lowkey pissed, and Jess made a comment about how she’s confused why she hasn’t had a one-on-one. Babe, we all know why and you’re about to have a rude awakening.

Now it’s time for the night portion of the date, and Joey can sense the vibes are off. All the girls sob to him about one thing or another and how they find it hard to compete with other women. MA’AM YOU SIGNED UP FOR A SHOW THAT IS LITERALLY ALL ABOUT THAT.

One of the most honest conversations to watch was between Lexi and Joey. She wants more clarity on a realistic timeline for getting married and having kids. Joey begins to explain he wants a multiple-year engagement and he would like to be married for a couple of years before having kids. Bravo to Lexi for asking real questions instead of just sobbing about something small. She tells him that she needs to think about it because with her medical condition and being 30, she doesn’t really have 5-7 years to wait.

Jenn tells Joey she’s falling for him and it’s so dang cute. Like EEEEKKKK!! She says that he almost started jumping up to dance after that and honestly me too!

Jess finally gets her time with Joey and begins to open up to him. She says that any time with him is time well spent and she is falling for him. (Guys it was mega awkward. Like crickets awkward). They begin to talk and Joey says that she is great but just not his person… yikes. He walks her out and notifies the rest of the girls that he sent her home.

Jenn gets the date rose! YAY!

The first one-on-one date goes to Kelsey T! Their date is a day training with acrobats at Cirque du Soleil. If you can picture The Greatest Showman movie that is EXACTLY the vibes of this date. Joey once again gets sick to his stomach (this time it’s because of all the spinning). Someone give this poor man a break!

The night portion of the date is where Kelsey T. gets to open up and share about her family. Her and her father are not close anymore and the source of that rift was religion. She explains that her dad completely cut her out of his life, and this started to create a distrust of men.

*Queue Joey’s signature tear wipe* It gets me every time! And DON’T worry, Kelsey T. gets the rose!

Now, what everyone (except me apparently) has been waiting for, it’s time for Maria’s date! A French man comes into the girl’s hotel, and lets Maria know Joey is ready for their date. As they are in the limo, Maria tries to get Joey to say naughty things in French, and Joey continues to say that she is going to get him in trouble.

They arrive at Claudette Floyd boutique, where Calduette herself tells Maria that Joey wants her to pick out a special dress for their date. The trying on dress montage was super cute (I guess.. Okay.. fine it was super cute), and she finds the perfect dress (for almost $1,400 it better be).

Once they get into the limo, Maria tricks Joey into saying “I love you” in French several times. (YUCK)

For the evening part of their date, they arrive at a private airport. Maria is scared they are going to jump out of the plane. Come on girl, you wouldn’t be jumping out in a suit and a beaded dress…

The plane takes them to the Rialto Theater, which is actually a FOUR minute drive from the boutique. This is when I would like all the haters to get off of Taylor Swift’s back for using her plane and hop on judging the Bachelor franchise for this.

At dinner they discuss her past relationship were her last boyfriend kept saying things about getting engaged but never popped the question. She tells Joey that she wants someone to say what they want and mean it! Preach, sis!

She tells Joey that she’s falling for him, and she gets the rose!

Just when you’d think the episode would be wrapping up with the Rose Ceremony, I realized there was like forty minutes left in the episode. This immediately makes me freak out because I fear for what is about to happen.

Lexi goes to Joey’s hotel room, and she wants to talk to him about their last conversation. She sits him down and tells him that she has to move at a “faster pace”  because of her medical condition, but she doesn’t expect Joey to make that kind of adjustment to his life. Joey is rightfully crushed, but he realizes this is probably the best choice for them both.

Joey tells Lexi that she will get everything she wants in life, and she will make a remarkable mother. Awwwwww, I NEED to clone this man.

Lexi says her goodbyes and as we watch her leave we all feel a little defeated because she’s PERFECT.

Now it’s time for the cocktail party pre rose ceremony! Each girl talks with Joey, and Daisy sits him down and says she needs to ask him a make or break question. OH SHOOT NOT DAISY. You can see the fear in this poor man’s eyes.

Daisy’s question is that she needs to know if Joey can give good foot massages. WHEW! Thank you Daisy for lightening the mood but also scaring the sh!t out of me!

Now it’s time for the rose ceremony! And Ladies, there are only THREE roses. Daisy, Kelsey A. and Rachel get to spend another week with Joey, and we get to send Lea (and also Katelyn) home! WHOOHOO!

The group is headed to Jasper, Alberta next! See you next week for another Bachelor Recap!

Vanderpump Rules and Real Housewives Recap

We had another super busy week with reality TV! Especially with the Bravo TV franchise! Vanderpump Rules aired Tuesday night, while The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and Miami took over on Wednesday afternoon and night! With both cities wrapping their season, we will finish both Real Housewives seasons off with DRAMATIC season finales! While we wrapped Beverly Hills and Miami – we can still look forward to the drama that’s to come with the 3 part episode reunions!

However, let’s discuss BIG moments from this season!

Let’s start with Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. We begin the season finale getting a deep inside look on Hollywood’s best couple Kyle and Mauricio. The couple have been married for 30 years and have recently decided to go their separate ways. We even get a diver look into who the “new ”Kyle is and what her true passion is now. Although she’s been on the show for over a decade- we got to see a different side of her this season that we never have before. Kyle is in her healing era. Kyle has decided to be sober and focus on her mental health as well physical health. In this week’s finale we finally get to see Mauricio and Kyle sit down with their loved ones and finally discuss the separation. It’s a devastating moment with their daughters but they all have come to an agreement that with time things change and they have to do what’s best for them.

Kyle then finally opens up about her situation with the ladies and discusses her and Mau’s separation with Erika. Erika reassures her that she will be here for her during this time and that she needs to ignore what fans will think. Erika emphasizes that Kyle should take time to herself and work on her relationship with her kids and family. We don’t usually see Kyle and Erika confiding in each other so this was a moment that the audience loved and admired.

While a lot of speculation has been around Kyle’s marriage – Dorit and PK open up about their recent marital struggles as well. They host a FaceTime call with each other and the two discuss some issues and challenges they have been facing with each other. While Dorit feels PK is not as present, PK believes it is the other way around. For as long as RHOBH has aired, we’ve almost never seen any one discuss marital issues. It’s almost like this city in particular likes to sweep things under the rug, however this season takes a different and relatable approach!

Kyle also hosts her annual white party and invites the ladies, family, and close friends. Erika performs during the event and we’re finally getting to see Erika JAYNE shine again! Crazy that a year ago today we would’ve never thought she bounced back from her situation.

The ladies arrive in all white and look STUNNING! The night is filled with drama, love, and tears and brings the ladies closer than ever! Crystal and Anne Marie even make up and have heart to heart moments about similarities in their children.

All thought there was IMMENSE drama this season THERE IS STILL MORE TO COME! The 3 part reunion episodes will air every Wednesday for the next 3 weeks and we will rehash the season throughout the reunion episodes. LUCKILY, Bravo released ANOTHER new episode this week, yet this one is a little different. VANDERPUMP RULES!

While everyone has been on their toes since the epic last season -everyone is interested in seeing how the friend group turns out this year….

This week we also dive head first into Season 11 Episode 4! While the beginning of the this season start off to a slow start- this episode was a perfect opportunity to amp up the curiosity and excitement for our audience this season. Katie and Ariana discuss the progress of “Something about her” which is sandwich/cocktail bar that the ladies are opening soon. The fans have been waiting since last May for it to open and we’re all dying to see how it turns out! Next, we see Lisa, Schena, and Lala sit down and have an intimate conversation about mental health . This conversation that definition calls people’s attention and highlights some of the challenges each and everyone one of the cast mates have gone through with “Scandoval”. Lisa Vanderpump reassured her cast that no matter what the circumstances she’s going to be there for them no matter what situation they fall into. The conversation ends in the ladies agreeing and being supportive of each other. While we LOVE the drama of reality TV ,sometimes it’s nice to listen to others talk about realistic issues and challenges in life. It allows the cast to connect to their audience more.

James then hosts a pool party with all the friends and invites everyone except for Tom Sandoval. The pool party allows us the friends to reconnect with one another and LALA AND SCHWARTS MAKE AMENDS! Who would’ve ever thought? We see a sweet moment between the two reminiscing on their friendship and they decide to forgive each other for the past.

Tom Sandoval meets with Billy Lee to discuss Rachel. He tells Billy he misses her and that he’s not going to be dating anyone. (LOL) He says Rachel hasn’t talked to him in weeks and he doesn’t know how to reach out to her.

We finally wrap the Vanderpump episode with the friends sitting by the pool and Ariana and Katie talking behind the boys back. The girls still want nothing to do with their ex husbands/boyfriends whereas the rest of the group is trying to move on.

BRAVO TV IS CARRYING REALITY TV. I mean they’re literally keeping us busy and giving us something to do/watch 3-4 days out of the week based on what shows you’re interested in. I truthfully don’t know what I would be doing with my time every night after dinner if there wasn’t some kind of drama for me to watch. Nothing better than lighting a candle, getting cozy, and turning on Bravo!
