This week, Kate and I were on a mission: satisfy our taco cravings. After a long day of classes, we were seriously craving something flavorful and filling, and what better place to find that than Logan’s sorority house, Alpha Delta Pi (ADPi), where Taco Tuesday was happening? As soon as we were done with class, we made a beeline for the ADPi house, already dreaming of tacos. The kitchen was packed with food, and we were ready to dive in. But before we could get to the main event—Taco Tuesday—we made a quick stop at the salad bar.
Every sorority house seems to have its own version of the salad bar, and ADPi was no different. It had a ton of fresh veggies and toppings to choose from. Kate and I decided to kick things off with a side salad to get some greens in before we indulged. The lettuce was crisp, the cucumbers were nice and crunchy, and the cherry tomatoes were juicy. We added a little shredded cheese and, of course, some ranch dressing to top it all off. It was the perfect light start to the meal.
Now, the real fun began. Taco Tuesday was calling, and we couldn’t wait to dig in. The hot food bar was loaded with all the essentials for making the perfect taco or nacho plate. You could choose between a warm bed of white rice or crispy nacho chips. Both of us went for the rice—it just seemed like a better base for all the toppings. The chicken was juicy and perfectly seasoned, not greasy at all. Then came the toppings. Kate and I went all-out with the salsa (I took the spicy route, while she went mild), a huge scoop of creamy guacamole, sweet corn, black beans, and plenty of shredded cheese. We couldn’t leave out the sour cream, either, which added a nice balance to the spiciness of the salsa.
But it didn’t stop there. We grabbed a side of crispy, golden tortilla chips to dip into our taco bowls. The chips were crunchy and salted just right, giving every bite of our taco bowls a satisfying crunch. It was the perfect combination of flavors and textures—definitely the best way to wrap up a long day of classes.
Now let’s dive into the ratings!
For taste, Kate gave it a solid 2, and I gave it a 1. Honestly, the meal was so good, we were both left completely satisfied. The flavors were on point, and every bite filled us right up—definitely one of the best lunches we’ve had in a while.
When it comes to presentation, we both gave it a 2. Let’s be real—when you pile on that many toppings, things can get a little messy. But honestly, that didn’t take away from the experience. It was a little chaotic in terms of looks, but the flavor made up for it tenfold.
For price versus quality, we both agreed on a 2. Considering what we pay for sorority dues each semester, the food is honestly pretty great. For the quality of the ingredients, the flavor, and the portion sizes, it’s definitely a good deal.
And last but not least, for smell, we gave it a 3. The moment we walked into the kitchen, we were hit with the delicious aroma of all the different toppings and spices. The combination of fresh salsa, grilled chicken, guacamole, and all the other flavors really filled the air and got our appetites going.
Overall, Taco Tuesday at ADPi was a win in every sense of the word!
