We are here to give you 3 healthy and simple meals to make from your dorm room that will fill that void. Moving away from home can make it hard to balance a healthy diet. As college students we are tempted almost all the time to click that simple Door Dash button and have food delivered right to our door. We have all done it, especially after a long day. Eating healthy in college especially while living in a dorm can seem like a daunting task but we are here to help you!
The 3 dishes we have created are Over Night Oats, Buffalo ChickpeaWraps and Couscous Salad! We have you covered for every meal of the day. Each of these dishes prep time varies as each dish is different but can be cooked from the comfort of your dorm. If you live in any dorm on UA’s campus, each dorm has a kitchen sectioned off on one of the floors. Go ahead and check it out! Over Night Oats Overnight oats are a simple dish that can be created in the comfort of your dorm, requires no kitchen! We love when it doesn’t require a kitchen, makes the clean-up 10 times easier for us tired college students. There are a multitude of recipes online for overnight oats, you can choose recipes with berries all the way to a Reeses peanut butter cup flavor! This makes the options limitless which means you will never get bored with this dish. Our favorites to include are chocolate chips, strawberries, peanut butter and sometimes crushed cookies! Buffalo Chickpea Wrap Buffalo chickpea wraps are one of our favorite dishes. They are what we would like to say, “chefs kiss”.
Buffalo chickpea wraps are a fun play on the classic buffalo chickpea dish, during football season we know this dip is all the rave. These wraps are the perfect way to get your taste of Buffalo while staying on track with your healthy lifestyle. Buffalo wraps include buffalo sauce, lettuce, chicken, onions, and chickpeas. You will want to sauté the buffalo and chicken together once the chicken has been cooked. You can stove cook the chicken or bake! Add whatever toppings you would like to include we like to add shredded cheese and avocado! Let us know what you think of our favorite dish below.
Couscous Salad Couscous salad is an all-time favorite. It is simple and delish. This dish will require you to head up to that kitchen in your dorm or apartment as well. This is a great dish to bring to large gatherings or to just enjoy with your friends. Like overnight oats, couscous salad has a wide variety of what type of couscous salad you would prefer. Our favorite couscous salad includes feta, spinach, basil, onion, couscous and of course chickpeas! The prep time on this is about 30 minutes, you will want to cook to bring your water to a boil then add the couscous in. Once the couscous has been cooked you are then free to add in all the toppings of your desire. You can serve this dish hot or cold, we prefer it hot! Add hot sauce for a spice to your dish.
