Through an online vote on the UA SGA social media accounts six bands were chosen to enter the final rounds of the contest. The audience will be able to vote after each performance using a QR code at the venue.

The Wheelers
Let me introduce you to what I believe will be the best band in the Tuscaloosa after all this is said and done. Now I cannot say that for certain but based on what is out there, this is by far the best marketing for a band I have seen. The name Wheelers comes up instantly when you google it, Their Instagram and Facebook gives you everything you need to know about them, and their demo listed above shows you what you need to hear about them. They sound amazing, you can see throughout their demo that they change genre effortlessly and land each and everyone. They are masters at what they do and can change vocals depending on what it required for the song. All around I am super excited to see what this band will be like tonight.
Five Card Draw
I’ll admit when I first heard the violin I was shocked at the choice. I had never really heard a band like this with a violin, but it really works. This band gives off that punk vibe that mixes beautifully with the song they are singing. The thing I liked most about them is their stage presence, they really control the stage and give you something to look at while your enjoying their music. The movement of the violin, the singer, and rest combine to create an spectacle for the eyes. Saving the best for last I want to talk about their lead guitar, this song really shows off his talents in a major way.
Midnight Steel
Nothing like covering free bird to get the audience on your side. This band gives me big karaoke vibes in the best way possible. They know how to work a crowd to the benefit which creates a environment that builds more hype. This video might not be the best demonstration of their skills, the camera work is shaky but it works to their rugged bar band aesthetic. I love their music and cant wait to see more of them.
Poundcake
This one might be my favorite for the vibes they give off alone. Watch the video above and try to tell me not to find this band charming, it reminds me of chilling my friends basement just riffing and having fun. I really can’t wait to see them live, to see what they are like in a profession sense. I think they have a real chance at winning if they bring this comfortable energy to the Battle of the Bands plus their name is Poundcake.
Rendezvous
This is a band that has a lot of potential to really stand out, I think out of all the bands here these guys look the part. This video was pulled from their Instagram and really showcases their abilities. The main stand out of this band is again the lead guitar, I loved the solo in this video. This is the perfect band for something in the background while you go to beach or study at home. Keep an eye out Rendezvous in the future.

I can tell you that this is a band that started during the quarantine and how grown in popularity from there, I am really excited to see how they do in the Battle of the Bands, they are going to be a complete surprise.
