Finals week is upon us! While this is a stressful time for most students, it is important to take time for yourself and your mental health.
Often, during finals week. Students tend to neglect themselves due to an overload of stress while preparing for upcoming exams. Lucky for you, we have create the ultimate guide for ways to stay healthy, happy and stress free during finals week.
Taking time for yourself can be hard when you feel overloaded but during this time of the school year, you need to focus on yourself the most. For us, destressing after a long and stressful day is one of our favorite tasks. Unwinding at night doesn’t have to be a huge process but it can be something to make you feel better at the end of the day.
Once you have started to wind down for the day, the first thing that’s important to do is make yourself a good meal. If you don’t feel like cooking, you can also swing by your favorite take out spot that will make you feel good. Currently we are loving shrimp Mediterranean bowls, healthy, yummy and filling! We do love to order some yummy Chinese take-out too.
Once you have made yourself a yummy meal you can unwind by taking a hot shower or bath. Taking a shower or bath is a good way to relax after a stressful day, you can pick up new bubble bath and body wash just to make your shower or bath even better! Plus, whom doesn’t love buying new bath products? After you’ve cleaned up for the evening it’s time to put on your favorite jammies or comfy clothes. Currently, we are obsessed with the SKIMS Cozy Collection. You have to check it out, perfect for the cold weather and makes you feel like you are wrapped up in a giant teddy bear. After you can light your candles and just really take time for yourself.
Another way we love to practice self-care after a long day is with eye masks and face masks. Your skin will be glowing after doing this! Your skin can get dry very easily during the winter and can be one of the most neglected steps in yourself care evening. We love the Loops masks!
Now it’s time to get ready for bed and get cozy. Time to turn on your favorite TV show and not worry about any of the schoolwork ahead of you for the next day. We also recommend reading before bed, it is good for your eyes to not look at any light up to an hour before your desired bedtime. Be sure to check out Colleen Hoover books!
Taking time for yourself doesn’t have to be a huge process but it is important to take some time out of your day just for you. It can be easy to get overwhelmed and stressed out with all the tasks at hand but we know that it’s important to relax so we can be on topof our game the next day.
