Music is integrated into our everyday lives. We listen to it waking up in the morning, on the car ride to work and even during work. Our lives run on music, but what music do we like to run to? This week we take a closer look at what’s blasting through our earbuds as we sweat it out and continue our transformation to “Becoming That Girl.”

Hearing somebody give advice can keep your workout peaceful and maybe even help you learn something new.

Everybody has a go-to workout playlist, whether it’s hip hop, rock or country, there is a playlist for any and all exercises. Every exercise has a different playlist because no workout is the same.

When it comes to yoga most of us think of relaxing, tranquil sounds that help keep our bodies aligned with our aura. These playlists can be made up of sounds made coming from instruments such as a sound bowl or soft, tranquil beats with lyrics overtop.

Walking the treadmill can be such a daunting task when it comes to working out, but strutting on the runway to “Levitating” by Dua Lipa? That’s an exercise we can get behind. Transform that boring warm-up cardio into a one-night performance by listening to pop hits or spread your wings on the Victoria Secret’s Fashion Show runway with upbeat tracks.

When lifting heavy things, there needs to be music that is not only motivating but has a “feeling myself” moment. No one wants to lift weights to Ed Sheeran singing about the love of his life. We need some real hot girl sh*t and that’s just what rap artists like Megan Thee Stallion and pop artist Halsey are doing. When walking to the weight rack feel confident before grabbing those dumbbells.

When taking a break from our busy days to exercise, we can also multi-task. While taking a walk outside like on Tuscaloosa’s riverwalk, pop in some earbuds and dial a familiar number. Call a family member or friend and catch up on everything. This not only helps relieve extra stress but it’s one more thing to check off on our to-do lists.
No matter the preference, all forms of exercise are best paired with some sort of sound radiating through your earbuds. Try out one of our playlists on your next daily dose of exercising and on your journey to become that girl.
