What to do in Tuscaloosa this weekend

Share

Do you have friends coming into town this weekend, are you desperately trying to find something for them to do, look no further I have you weekend planned. This is a list of several things that you can do with friends of any caliber for this weekend.

Axe throwing

Now you can join the Vikings of old, you can now throw axes to you hearts content. This is something that me and some friends from back home did last time they were in town and it was amazing. We had a lot of goofy fun splitting into teams and trying to get the best score, it was kind of like the vibe of bowling but with the novelty of throwing sharp objects.

Local coffee shops

Sometimes you just want to sit down and catch up with some friends from out of town, but hanging out in your dorm room sucks. There are tons of cool coffee shops that you can hang out in Tuscaloosa if all you want to do chat. Monarch is one of my favorite it has the best atmosphere, but the seating can be limited sometimes. If Monarch is full head over to Heritage House it has a super cool vibe with some real furniture. Lasty head over to U-Perk its a lot smaller but it has some board games that you can play while you are there.

Riverwalk

This is by far my favorite place on campus and an amazing place to see the sights. Find a nice place on the walk and sit down for a spell, have a picnic, or just dip a toe in the water. If you want something to eat you can work up an appetite with a nice walk and eat at one of the restaurants on the trail.

Escape room

Escape Tuscaloosa is a really cool interactive experience for a relatively low price for what it is offering. It might seem really intimidating or scary but it really isn’t, the puzzles are super fun to do and give you and your friends a way to hang out that much different than just doing nothing.

Kentuck

This is the most interesting thing happening this week by far. If you have friends coming in this week you have to take them to Kentuck. It it is one of the largest arts festivals in the south and will definetly have something for you to enjoy. If you want to look at really compelling art and creations they got plenty of that or if you just want to eat a deep fried twinkie there is plenty to enjoy

Do you have something that you think we should put on the list let us know on our socials.
