Santa is right around the corner:
It may not feel like it, but truthfully, the Holidays are right around the corner. Only 10 days until Thanksgiving, 11 days until Black Friday, 35 days until Hannukah, and 41 days until Christmas – these days are going to creep up on us so so fast.
That being said, now is the perfect time to start looking at gifts to get all if your loved ones. With stores already starting their holiday deals, I am here to give you some great gift ideas for you to get your search started!

Mom
Have you ever seen the SNL skit where all the mom gets is a robe? Don’t be that kid this year.
I don’t know about you but my mom works her butt off during the holiday season to make sure everything is in line for Christmas, so put some extra thought into your moms gift this year.
Some good ideas include:
- Wine glasses that have something funny on them
- A cute pair of shoes you know she’ll love
- A Pj set
- Personalized Jewelry
Dad
My dad is always my most complicated gift. He is the guy to get himself what he wants through the year, so when Xmas comes around, we all draw a blank. But, that doesn’t mean its impossible.
- Comfy Pjs! – Can never go wrong with the classic buying your dad PJ pants, even if its a lot like the mom robe situation.
- Something that goes along with what your Mom gets them! – can’t go wrong here. Did your mom get your dad a smoker this year? Get him some nice grill tools.
- Tickets/Voucher to do something together! – go do something your dad loves to do with him! He’ll never forget it.
Sister
I have special circumstances when it comes to getting my sister a gift- she’s 11 – which I assume is not a situation many of you are in. So, for the sister category I’m going to give you a few things to get a sister that would be closer in age
Sister in College?
- Nothing like the gift of money – get her a gift card to her favorite place or just a visa she can use anywhere!
- Personalized Jewelry works perfect here too!
- Kitchen tools and useful gifts are always a blessing.
Not in college?
- Get her a sweatshirt to the school you know she’s looking at or where she goes!
- Cool stationary!
- A nice perfume!
Brother
Brothers…. maybe you are a brother to a brother, and it is a little easier to know what to gift them, bit mine always has me at a loss for gift ideas.
- A hoodie for his favorite band/team/video game/ or movie.
- A cool extension to their gaming device! – if your brother likes to game, this is the way to go.
- A cool leather wallet! – stop your brother early from carrying all his cards in his pocket.
Significant Other
Whenever you rely on the internet for “Gifts for Boyfriend” it always pulls up a few things- a leather wallet, and engraved knife, or something obscure made of metal.
On a similar note, looking up “Gifts for Girlfriend” pulls up a bunch of random jewelry, strange roses that never die, and the most obscure Etsy gifts possible
But I know we can do better than that.
Gifts for your significant other really depends on what their likes are, but here are some jumping points to get your creativity flowing:
- An experience is always better than a material thing- take you SO on a quick weekend trip or to do something you know they’ve always wanted to do!
- Jewelry is always a safe bet no matter who you are getting it for – always be sure to check if they are a silver or a gold jewelry person!
- Practical gifts!
Friends
With most of my friends, out gift to each other is not having to spend the money on getting the other a gift, but of course there are always a couple that a gift exchange is what’s on the table
- Do they like sports? Get them some merch for their favorite team!
- A basket of things that are their favorite color!
- Something you know they will use! – my best friend loves popcorn so I got her a microwave popcorn maker!

Again, reading this you may not realize how close the holidays actually are, but by the time you are able to get stuff ordered and have it delivered, it’ll be time.
So get out there and get shopping!
