Rory McIlroy Wins The Masters Tournament
It was a thrilling final day in the Masters Tournament as three golfers took the outright lead. Rory McIlroy entered the day -12 and with a two-stroke lead over Bryson Dechambeau. However, his lead quickly evaporated as he double-bogeyed on the 1st hole. Dechambeau would take the lead on the 2nd hole, but McIlroy would come storming back to recapture the lead on the 3rd hole. McIlroy would then build upon his lead and by the time he finished the 10th hole he was -14.
Then things started to take an unfortunate turn for McIlroy as he would bogey the 11th hole and then double bogey the 13th leading to a three-way tie for first between himself, Justin Rose, and Ludvig Auberg. Rose would find himself with possession of the lead as McIlroy bogeyed the 14th hole. Rose who entered the day at -5 finished his day at -11 and could only wait for McIlroy to finish his round. McIlroy would make his way to the 18th hole with a one stroke lead kneading to make par to win his first green jacket. Unfortunately for he would bogey the 18th leading to a playoff between Rose and him.
The playoff took place on the 18th hole where we saw Rose and McIlroy put together beautiful drives. The second shot would lead to the crowning of our eventual champion as McIlroy would place the ball closer to the cup than Rose. Rose would miss his birdie put and left the door open for McIlroy. Not letting the opportunity pass him by Rory McIlroy would sink his birdie put and win the Masters Tournament. Finally completing his career grand slam.
The Career Grand Slam
With the win, Rory joins a list of six golfers who have completed a career grand slam, and his first major since the 2014 Open Championship. The grand slam is achieved by winning the Masters Tournament, U.S. Open Championship, PGA Championship, and Open Championship. The other five grand slam golfers are, Gene Sarazen, Ben Hogan, Gary Player, Jack Nicklaus, and Tiger Woods.

Oscar Piastri Wins the Bahrain Grand Prix
It was a great day on the track for McLaren Oscar Piastri as he delivered the team its first victory in Bahrain. This is Piastri’s second win on the season and team McLaren’s third in the first four races. While he and Mercedes driver George Russel finished in the same position they placed in qualifying there were some big shake-ups below them as Lando Norris went from 6th to 3rd, and Lewis Hamilton went from 9th to 5th.

Norris was able to make up a 5-second penalty he had from the start of the race. He was able to beat both Ferraris to take home third and stay in front of his teammate in the driver’s championship.
