Newest Cocktail Bars in Tuscaloosa

Share

Tuscaloosa is a continuously developing city with new boutiques, bars, and restaurants opening every month. Although new businesses are constantly opening, many Tuscaloosa locals and UA students are looking for new bars. Many bars in Tuscaloosa are geared toward college students, but two new cocktail bars have opened downtown and are suited for both college students and adults.

Atomic Cocktail Bar

Located on the lower level of Dillard’s Chophouse, Atomic is a new cocktail bar in Tuscaloosa that features a large main area and an area for pool and darts. As for now, pool games are free. By advertising free pool games, Atomic will definitely draw more customers since Tuscaloosa is full of pool sharks. The manager, Collin, added LED and strobe lights, giving it a vibrant atmosphere. The lights flash to the beat of modern, rhythmic music that pulses through the crowd. Collin hopes that the lights will draw people in while they are on the way to Druid City Social. Atomic will also double as an event space and has already hosted sorority date parties as well as private dinner parties.

Collin created a unique and detailed cocktail menu, featuring 21 cocktails. Personally, I appreciate the detail he put into the menu. The liquor in each cocktail is named by brand, so you know exactly what you are getting. In addition, the cocktails are listed under the liquor they feature, making the menu easier to navigate. The cocktails that are featured cannot be seen on any other cocktail menu in Tuscaloosa which further sets Atomic apart from other bars.

Roll Call Cocktail Bar in Tuscaloosa

Roll Call is a cocktail bar in Tuscaloosa located at the top of the Alamite Hotel. It opened to the public on Oct. 27 and features a dynamic indoor area and rooftop area. Alamite guests as well as those looking for a unique cocktail are welcome at Roll Call. The rooftop is filled with comfortable seating and is the perfect place to be during sunset.

The cocktail menu features eight alluring cocktails, some including banana liqueur and chocolate bitters. The liquors used in the cocktails include Four Roses, High West, Titos, and Corazon. Along with eight cocktails, Roll Call has a wine menu with seven red wines and eight white wines.

If you are feeling hungry, Roll Call also has a kitchen where guests can satisfy their cravings. The food options are a sophisticated twist on regular bar food, featuring wood-fired pizzas, crab beignets, and a variety of sliders. The kitchen is located towards the back of the inside area and is set behind a large open window, allowing customers to see how their food is being prepared.

Now that you know more about Atomic and Roll Call, hopefully, these two cocktail bars will be your two new places to go!

As always, ROLL TIDE and happy drinking (responsibly)!
