NFL Draft: A Clash of College Titans

As the 2023 NFL Draft is just moments away, the anticipation among football fans is sensational. The excitement is hardly surprising, considering the wealth of talent in this year’s draft class. Four names, in particular, have been generating the most buzz: Bryce Young, C.J. Stroud, Anthony Richardson, and Will Anderson Jr. Each of these players has showcased their remarkable skills during their college careers, raising expectations for their NFL futures. This draft could prove to be a turning point for multiple franchises, as these four talents are poised to make an immediate impact on the gridiron.

Bryce Young

Bryce Young’s college career at Alabama was nothing short of spectacular. With a Heisman Trophy under his belt, Young is expected to be THE top pick in the draft. His ability to thread the needle with pinpoint accuracy while keeping plays alive with his legs has left scouts salivating. Teams in desperate need of a franchise quarterback should be ready to make their move, as Young is a game-changer in the making. On top of this, recent S2 QB Test scores came out with Bryce Young scoring a 98% on the exam. His IQ and ability to “play the QB position like a point guard” will definitely make him the #1 pick in the NFL Draft.

C.J. Stroud

Hailing from Ohio State, Stroud is a force to be reckoned with. At 6-foot-3 and 210 pounds, Stroud’s size, arm strength, and poise in the pocket make him an attractive prospect for any NFL team. Stroud’s deep ball accuracy and ability to make tight-window throws have drawn comparisons to the likes of Patrick Mahomes and Aaron Rodgers. With the potential to become an elite NFL quarterback, Stroud is a coveted asset in this year’s draft. The team that lands him, most likely the Texans at #2 in the draft, will have a bright future ahead with Stroud at the starting position. However, there have been questions surrounding Stroud regarding his QB Test scores. As he scored an 18% (out of 100) on his S2 exam, making him the lowest QB score out of Young, Levis, Richardson, and Hooker.

Anthony Richardson

Coming from Florida, Richardson is a pure 10/10 athlete who can be compared to Cam Newton in the starting QB position. However, his consistency is questionable for sure when discussing his history at Florida. Yes he is an athletic talent, but ability and mentality in the QB position is very important. I would be surprised to see if Anthony Richardson is a top 3 pick in the draft, but whoever wants him is going to have to work on his fundamentals heavily before he can be considered a starter. He’s projected to go somewhere in the top 5 picks in the Draft. I just can’t see that happening even in a perfect world.

Will Anderson Jr.

While the 2023 NFL Draft is quarterback-heavy, one defensive standout has risen to the top of the conversation: Will Anderson Jr. This dynamic edge rusher from Alabama has all the makings of a generational talent. With a relentless motor, explosive first step, and impressive array of pass-rushing moves, Anderson Jr. is a nightmare for opposing offenses. He has drawn comparisons to elite NFL pass rushers like Von Miller and Myles Garrett. Teams in need of a game-wrecking defensive presence should be lining up for the chance to draft Anderson Jr., as he has the potential to anchor a defense for years to come. I for one predict that he can be a defensive talent close to Lawrence Taylor. I’ve compiled the following graphic below showing their college stats.

The 2023 NFL Draft is shaping up to be one for the ages, with these four outstanding talents leading the charge. As the football world eagerly awaits the results, one thing is certain: the future is bright for the NFL, as a new generation of gridiron greats is about to take center stage.
