Where you would most likely to get food poisoning

Share

When most people hear this question, they have a place that instantly pops into their heads. If you were to get food poisoning from any restaurant in Tuscaloosa, what place would it be? Did you think of one? TwitchTalks discussed many of the first places UA students thought of this week.

One of the more common responses we received was Buffalo Phil’s. I think we all honestly expected this one to pop up more than once. I think everyone still remembers them having to shut down for the inspection score being too low on August 13th. It did reopen very quickly but still, that’s a scary thing to hear. Once you get that reputation or mark once, it could be hard to shake. But hey, the buffalo chicken dip is still good, if you’re willing to risk it.

Another response we have received was Glory Bound. We were told specifically it was their chicken items, however. With them including it had the texture of a tire. We weren’t so sure what that meant either, but it does not sound appealing. If you want to hear more about that experience check out our TikTok @UATwitch! Also, with someone’s response of Glory Bound, they said it did happen there. So sorry to hear that.

One that shocked me though was Half Shell Oyster House. Also included in our TikTok it was stated that they opened the shell of the oyster and instead of the oyster it was a cockroach. This would be so nasty and traumatizing. I don’t think they will ever be able to look at an oyster without thinking of that time.

A response that I did expect however showed up in Taco Casa. Just the thought of drive-through Tex-Mex food does not sound appetizing to me. The only way I feel like you can decide there is if Taco Casa is the last place open at night. Then it is still a maybe.

Taco Bell was also submitted. This was to be expected as everyone has had a rough Taco Bell experience. Every Taco Bell visit seems like a guess in if it will be good or bad the time you go. Sometimes it’s worth the risk.

Two other Mexican restaurants made the list as well. These two are La Hacienda and Margarita Grill. If you have been in either of these, you could definitely see the possibility. The food may not be recommended but the margaritas are. At least I’d hope so with a name like Margarita Grill.

Ajian Sushi also made it in the responses. With sushi in Tuscaloosa, I am not surprised this made the list. This feels like it could go wrong in so many ways. I don’t know if I would be brave enough to try this one out after hearing this.

One was response was Captain D’s. I think this was an obvious answer as well. Fast food and fish. This just should never mix. This seems like one of the fastest ways to get sick. Somehow it is still in business so there has to be people that enjoy it, but that is not me.
