From Alabama’s Bryce Young and Will Anderson Jr. leading the pack throughout the combine to Anthony Richardson and Bijan Robinson displaying their raw athleticism. The 2023 NFL combine was an impressive outlook on the NFL Draft occuring later this Spring. We’ll be going through players that put up the best grades as well as those who put on an absolute show for the scouts.

Top Shelf Defensive Prospects

There are a lot of defensive treasures in this draft class. To no one’s real surprise, Georgia defensive tackle Jalen Carter, lead the combine with the highest grade of 7.05. However, he was not the only prospect with a grade of 7+.

Alabama’s defensive edge Will Anderson Jr. acheived a grade of 7.02. Scoring a 99 production score and an overall score of 94. Both players being outstanding at what they do best, defend, it is to no one’s surprise that these two were the best of the best within the combine.

However, with all the recent controversy following Carter, it begs the question if his acts off the filed will have an effect on his draft placement.

According to CBS Sports’ most recent mock draft, it is shown that Jalen Carter will be the eighth pick in the draft to the Atlanta Falcons, although he was projected to be a top three pick.

Alongside those outstanding defensive talents you have some amazing prospects following. DE Tyree Wilson from Texas Tech scoring a 6.77 grade with a 91 production score and 91 overall score. Arkansas Linebacker Drew Sanders scoring a 6.74 grade with an overall score of 86.

Offensive Powerhouses

This draft class is very offensively talented as well with many As much as the defensive talent showed up in the combine, the offensive talent was not too far behind. With Alabama’s Heisman winning Quarterback Bryce Young scoring a blistering 6.82, with Ohio State’s recent Heisman finalist C.J. Stroud scoring a 6.70.

Suprisingly enough, Bryce Young didn’t throw during the combine saying he is resting his arm for the pro game occuring on March 27th. Depsite this, Young scored a production rating of 99 and scored an 82 on his athleticism score ranking 7th among all QBs scouted.

On the other hand, Stroud scored a production rating of 97 and scored a pretty measly athleticism rating of 73. Ranking 11th among scouted QBs. As far as it goes for other QBs, the only other outstanding ones were Florida’s Anthony Richardson and Kentucky’s Will Levis.

If you haven’t watched our latest TikTok (@uatwitch) on Anthony Richardson I advise you go do that now. It mainly sums up the confusion Jack and I have towards this QB being a top overall pick. I would just like to emphasize that altheticism is necessary, but production score for a QB is very important.

With two QBs, realistically, taking up the top spots for NFL Draft, then comes other offensive tools that sort of took over the combine.

Texas running back Bijan Robinson stunned scouts putting up a 6.84 grade, the third highest following Carter and Anderson Jr. Having a production score of 99 and an athleticism score of 85 putting him at 96 overall. The highest rating in his class. At Texas, Robinson was agreeably the best running back in college football and it still stands that he is a dominant athlete and contender. Running a blistering 4.46 and vertical leap of 37″. He is easily one of the best players to come out of this draft and should be a top 10 overall pick.

Tennesse wide receiver Jalin Hyatt was another standout talent within he combine. Although having a grade of bsolute 6.50, Hyatt’s scores rounded to 89 overall. At Tennessee, Hyatt was the fastest position player in college football and it doesn’t look like he’s slowing down any time soon. Although his grade is low compared to those of Jordan Addison from USC, he still has the chance of being a first round pick.
